In the so-called “new normal”, it is essential to follow measures of hygiene and prevention, especially in public spaces like swimming pools. Below are some key recommendations for enjoying your swim safely.

General recommendations for the use of swimming pools

  1. Shower before and after bathing
    A pre-shower helps remove impurities from the body. Hygiene is essential before, during, and after using the pool.

  2. Sanitize your hands frequently
    Disinfect your hands upon entering the facility and after touching surfaces such as doorknobs, lockers, or railings. Use soap and water upon returning home.

  3. Cleaning personal accessories
    Wash swimsuits, towels, hats, sunglasses, backpacks, sandals, and lotion bottles regularly to eliminate viruses and bacteria.

  4. Use a bag for disposable materials
    Always carry a bag to dispose of used masks or gloves. Make sure to seal it tightly and place it in the designated trash cans.

  5. Maintain social distancing
    Always maintain the minimum safety distance. If this isn't possible, wear a mask as a complementary measure.

  6. Leave the facility if you experience any symptoms.
    If you experience any symptoms related to COVID-19, leave the area immediately and notify the organization.

Our COVID-19 Protocols – Summer 2020

In all events organized by Watervolley Spain® and Watersportpools®, we implemented strict protocols to ensure the safety of participants and attendees:

  • The pool area will be cordoned off with capacity control, single access and marked exit.
  • A is established entrance hall with mandatory chlorinated water shower before participating in the activity.
  • Each user must bring their own bag for personal items and mask.
  • Compliance with the following is required: hygienic-sanitary measures:
    • Chlorinated shower beforehand
    • Use of waste bins for disposable materials
    • Individual bag for used masks or gloves
  • Personal belongings (towels, backpacks, etc.) should be placed next to the user, outside the pool perimeter but within the event space.
  • It should be respect schedules and shifts according to the organization's instructions.
  • A requirement is made distance of at least 2 meters Outside the pool. Within the perimeter, event rules will apply; if social distancing cannot be guaranteed, the use of a mask is recommended.
  • Cleaning of the facilities:
    • Minimum three times a day
    • Complete disinfection twice a day
    • During these works, access to the pool area is not permitted.
  • He perimeter platform will only be used for access and exit, not to remain in it.
  • Access to the glass of water will be done only by the enabled stairs, avoiding uncontrolled jumps or dives to prevent accidents.

Water quality

In compliance with the Royal Decree 742/2013, the water will be maintained with the following parameters:

  • pH between 7.2 and 8
  • Residual free chlorine between 1 and 3 mg/l
  • At least will be carried out three daily checks to ensure its quality.
