High-impact sporting event

The Watervolleyball Tournament in Pizarra was a resounding success with more than 200 participants.

Last weekend, Pizarra (Málaga) became the epicenter of water sports thanks to the event of Watervolley organized by WaterSportPoolUnder a scorching sun and with temperatures exceeding 40º, more than 200 players participated in a vibrant tournament that brought together sport, fun and community.

The event was a huge success in attendance and impact, not only locally but also on social media and in the media. Posts were posted on more than 100 digital media and some of the videos surpassed the 50,000 views, making clear the positive impact of the event on the digital environment.

Pizarra, the birthplace of Malaga volleyball

Known for its volleyball tradition, Pizarra welcomed the tournament with open arms. Among the participants were high-level players, including members of the Andalusian team and the national team, which raised the quality and excitement of the matches.

A luxury godfather: Rafa Pascual

The event was sponsored by the legendary Rafa Pascual, a Spanish volleyball legend, accompanied the participants throughout both days. His warmth, charisma, and support set the pace of the tournament. On Sunday morning, Pascual distributed official merchandise to the participants, creating memorable moments for everyone.

Two days of sport, heat and excitement

The activity began on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the pools open to the public. More than 100 players of all ages enjoyed Watervolley in the facilities next to the PZR skateparkEvery 20 minutes, exhibitions and introductions to the sport were held for the general public, which encouraged many curious spectators to sign up for the following day's tournament.

On Sunday, with more than 200 participants distributed in different categories, the official competition began in the three pools installed for the event:

  • 16 senior men's teams
  • 8 senior women's teams
  • 14 3x3 teams for children under 16

The atmosphere was unbeatable, with a high level of play thanks to the participation of federated athletes. The group stage took place in the morning, leaving the eagerly awaited final rounds for the afternoon.

Much more than sport

The tournament was also a celebration. Thanks to the sponsorship of PZR skatepark, attendees enjoyed a delicious community paella at noon, creating a family and festive atmosphere that brought players and fans together.

As a final touch, the Pizarra City Council paid tribute to Rafa Pascual, presenting him with a commemorative plaque for his career and example as an athlete, a source of pride for the entire volleyball community.
